📘 VSI Research Grant – ASVS 2026

🔬 Areas of Research

Research proposals are invited in all domains of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, including arterial, venous, lymphatic and aortic diseases, peripheral arterial disease, carotid and cerebrovascular disease, vascular trauma, vascular malformations, dialysis vascular access, diabetic foot and limb salvage, innovation in vascular technologies, biomedical imaging, clinical trials, disease modelling, diagnostics, prevention and epidemiology, basic vascular biology, health systems research, health economics, health policy, and other original research relevant to vascular and endovascular surgery.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicant must be a Full Life Member of VSI.
  • Applicant should be less than 40 years of age.
  • Must have a Guide with a minimum of 15 years of Vascular Surgery practice.
  • The project must have Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) approval.
  • A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Department/Head of Institution is mandatory.
  • The proposed research should be original and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Final-year M.Ch./DrNB Vascular Surgery candidates are not eligible.
📄 Abstract Submission Guidelines
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Maximum 300 words using the headings: Background, Objectives, Methods and Expected Outcomes.
  • Tables, figures, graphs and references are not permitted.
  • Include the title, Principal Investigator, Guide, Institution, VSI Membership Number, email and mobile number.
  • Submit through the ASVS 2026 online submission portal in PDF or DOC/DOCX format.
  • Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
📌 Terms & Conditions
  • Applicants must fulfil all eligibility criteria.
  • Grant disbursement: 25% on project approval, 50% after satisfactory interim review (~6 months), and 25% on successful completion.
  • Original bills, vouchers and expenditure receipts must be submitted to VSI.
  • The research shall remain the intellectual property of VSI, with publication rights vested with the Society.
  • The completed research shall be presented during the ASVS 2026 Research Grant Session and may subsequently be published in IJVES.
  • Interim or final results shall not be presented or published elsewhere without prior written approval from VSI.
  • In case of discontinuation, the candidate shall reimburse the entire grant amount received.
  • Selected candidates shall sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VSI.
  • Once awarded, the research title and principal investigator cannot be changed and the grant is non-transferable.
🔍 Selection Process
  • Applications will be screened by the VSI Research Grant Committee.
  • Top 10 proposals will be shortlisted and notified on 15 August 2026.
  • Shortlisted candidates must submit the complete proposal, IEC approval/status and supporting documents by 31 August 2026.
  • Waitlisted candidates, if invited, must submit by 15 September 2026.
  • Finalists will present during the ASVS 2026 Research Grant Session.
  • The decision of the Research Grant Committee/Judges shall be final.
